This policy explains what The Star Sign collects, why, and what choices you have. We try to keep it short and plain.
1 · What we collect
- Account info — your email address, and (if you sign in with Google) your Google profile name and avatar.
- Birth & chart data — the birth dates, times, and locations you enter to generate charts, plus any notes or saved profiles.
- Usage data — basic logs about how the Service is used (pages viewed, errors), used to keep it running.
- Billing records — for paid subscriptions: amount, date, plan, country (for tax). Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers.
2 · Why we use it
- To compute, store, and show you your charts and readings.
- To run your account — sign-in, password reset, support.
- To process payments and meet our tax/accounting obligations.
- To improve reliability and fix bugs.
- To send essential service messages (receipts, security alerts).
3 · Who processes your data
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the Service. They only process data on our behalf and under contract:
- Lovable Cloud — backend, database, and authentication.
- Google — only if you choose "Sign in with Google".
- Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions. See Stripe's privacy policy.
We don't sell your personal data. We don't share it with advertisers.
4 · Payment data
When you subscribe, your card details are entered directly into Stripe's checkout and never reach our servers. We retain billing records (amount, date, plan, country) for tax and accounting purposes, typically for at least seven years where required by law.
5 · Cookies
We use a small set of essential cookies (sign-in session, security). Stripe may set its own cookies during checkout. See our Cookies policy for details.
6 · How long we keep it
- Account & chart data — for as long as your account is open.
- If you delete your account — we erase your personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep by law (e.g. billing).
- Backups — may persist for a short rolling window before being overwritten.
7 · Your rights
You can ask us to:
- See what we hold about you.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete your account and personal data.
- Export your saved charts and notes.
Email info@thestarsign.com and we'll handle it within 30 days. If you're in the EU/UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
8 · Security
Data is transmitted over TLS and stored on managed infrastructure with access controls and encryption at rest. No system is perfect — if we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you promptly.
9 · Children
The Service is for people aged 16 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, please email us and we'll remove it.
10 · International transfers
Our providers may store and process data outside your country. Where required, we rely on standard contractual safeguards to keep your data protected to the same standards.
11 · Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app notice, and the "Last updated" date above will change.
